Us, Lately

Last week Preston and I went to play group at a place called Abbey's Playtown. It's like a gym but with a bounce house, swings, cars, and play areas. Preston was a little grumpy at first, but then had fun walking around and being pushed in the cars. He also loved the swing. We met up with a lot of moms from church and all in all there were 32 kids in our group. All ranging from infant to 3 years old. I didn't have my camera, but here are a couple of pictures from my friend's camera...

he looks like he wasn't having fun, but he was :)

he looked away at the last second when he was actually smiling

Lately I have been feeling less sick (it was pretty bad for a few weeks) but still tired, of course. I have not been motivated to do too much around the house even though it's a mess and I can't stand it. I'm looking forward to that 2nd trimester wave of energy and nesting. At least I had that with Preston and am hoping for that with this one! I am almost done with the first trimester...I was officially 11 weeks preggo on Saturday.

Also on Saturday we helped celebrate our friend's baby's 1st birthday! We met up at Mickey D's for lunch and all the kids got to play and then went and had dinner and cake and presents with them that evening. David was off the whole weekend and was able to come, too. It was lots of fun! Of course somehow I didn't take any pictures...but I know they did...so I will try and post some when I get them.

As some of you know, David applied for a position as an Air Traffic Controller in Aug of 2008, and after a very long process he found out (about a month ago, actually) that he has passed all his clearances and is accepted for the position! We are just waiting on a class date...which could be anytime from now until a year from now. We have no idea. The good thing is he was originally selected for a position in Houston, but got a redirect (by a miracle, I tell ya) to DFW. So yay, we won't have to move! Once he gets a class date he will do his initial training for about 12 weeks in Oklahoma City and then continue the training at DFW. So we are just waiting to know when, but we are excited for the new adventure!

Congrats! What great news! Will this be better hours and better pay?

Thanks!!
Hours will be somewhat better (8 hour shifts instead of 12 hour shifts) but he'll still have weekend/holiday requirements, overtime, and shift work as he does now. :) Pay will definitely be better after all the training is done!

That is awesome. I am so happy for you and David. I know that you will be much happier since you eventually won't have to work. I am glad you are feeling better. We were planning on coming up to Dallas last weekend but Caden has been so sick lately that we decided to give him the weekend at home with both of us to recover. Hopefully I can make it up there soon. I would love to get together with ya'll again. Do you think that ya'll might be coming down this way anytime soon? We would love to have you.
