Happy 100th Post!

Ok, so technically my last post was the 100th post, but that one didn't really count. Here's a list to catch you up with what's been going on with us, lately!

1. In case you're wondering why I changed my blog to private status, it's not because of any specific reason. I mean, no psycho stalkers or anything weird like that. I had been thinking about it for a while and just thought I didn't want strangers to be able to read the blog and have access to my personal info. I'm still working on adding people...

2. A couple of Saturdays ago my brother and sis-in-law planned a surprise birthday get-together for my niece, Ryann, at The American Girl Store in Dallas. Ryann lives with her mom and family in Missouri, but she came down for the weekend just to celebrate her birthday. For those who haven't experienced the American Girl movement...it's HUGE! There's a store with a bistro upstairs where there are highchairs and mini menus for the dolls! There is a salon in the store where the girls AND their dolls can get haircuts and new hairstyles. There are matching clothes for the girls and their dolls to wear. It's pretty crazy, but lots of fun for little girls. Ryann loved it and had a great birthday celebration.

3. Recently David took the CCRN test...which is basically a really tough certification for critical care nurses...and not only passed, but did really well! I am so proud of him! Congratulations, babe!! :)

4. Also, David is being considered for a promotion at his full time job...which says a lot b/c he's only been there for about 5 months and was recommended by his co-workers for the position. He has to interview for it...so we'll find out sometime soon if he gets it!

5. Preston is sick with a pretty nasty cold. :( It's been lingering for over a week and was getting worse the past couple of days so I took him in to see the doc today just to make sure it wasn't something more. Thankfully he doesn't have an ear infection and the doc says it's "just a virus" so of course there's nothing to do but let it run it's coarse. Poor baby with all the coughing and congestion...it's so pitiful! :( He's handling it pretty well though. We got to weigh him at the docs'...and he is 22 lbs 9oz! He'll be 8 months old officially on Sunday!

6. On Saturday David's cousin, Jake, got married in Pampa, TX! We weren't able to go b/c of David's schedule...I was so bummed! :( David's mom, aunt, gma, & papa stopped by our house Sunday evening and showed us pictures and of course wanted to see Preston. :) It looked like a beautiful wedding and everyone had a good time! Congrats to Jake and Calli!!

7. Tuesday night was our local AACN (American Association of Critical-Care Nurses) meeting. I am the secretary for the organization and we have a meeting once a month where we have a speaker (usually one of our doctors) and a sponsor to provide dinner. We brought Preston along and he did great! He was up way past his bedtime, but he didn't even fuss. The meeting was at Abuelos (yummy!) and one of our Cardiologists spoke about this. Really cool stuff!

8. I think Abby (our dog) has Preston's cold. Ok, so I don't even think that's possible, but she sounds congested! Aww!

9. Oh yeah, and Happy Belated St. Patrick's Day!!! :)

I gotta work tomorrow so I'm wrapping this up...Blogger won't load up my pictures...grr!!! I'll add pictures later.

Happy 100th post to you too! That's so great. I should see where I'm at I've got to be close. It sounds like some exciting things are going on with your little family. I've been thinking about going private too. Maybe soon. It's weird to think about random people cruising onto your blog looking at pictures and all about your life. p.s. I still can't believe we're all grown up and you're a mom now :)

Happy 100th. I haven't gotten there yet, but I also don't have a cute baby to be writing stories about. Congrats to David for his CCRN, that is great. I hope he gets the promotion, that would be wonderful!
