This year for Thanksgiving it was our turn to spend it at my parent's house. Since our families both live relatively close by we take turns each year alternating Christmas and Thanksgiving instead of trying to do both in one day. Also, this is the first time in three years that David and I actually get to spend the actual holidays together as a family! The three years before we were taking our turns working the holidays as required at the hospital. Since David is in training with his new job and my work status doesn't require me to work holidays, we get to enjoy the day with our families. :) Anyway, so my parents hosted Thanksgiving and we had a delicious dinner made by my mom and enjoyed the company of my uncle, granddad, brother, sis-in-law, niece, my sis-in-law's dad and of course David and Preston. I made a pumpkin pie (baking is a big deal for me since I am usually no good at it!) and it was really good! I guess it's almost impossible to go wrong with pumpkin pie because it's really easy to make. :) I played checkers and Sorry! with my niece and of course we watched football. The day went by so fast (esp because David was only here for one day since he had training to get back to on Friday) but it was a great Thanksgiving!
Some things I am thankful for this holiday season:
-David...he is an incredibly hard worker and so funny and sweet and shows his love for us continually
-Our healthy, happy, and incredibly cute Preston :)
-Another baby boy to join our family!
-A really healthy pregnancy thus far
-The Gospel in my life and all that I learn every day
-Wonderful family and friends who really enrich our lives and give so much selfless service!
Happy Thanksgiving! :)
