Since I've been blogging so few posts I've got to do a mega-post here...
First, I'll give an update on Preston. He turned 19 months old on Feb 22nd and is doing lots of new things! He is able to sign a few words consistently now. He signs "please", "more", and "thank you". I guess after seeing it all the time at daycare he finally picked it up. I never really pushed much sign language--but it's helpful! Preston also seems to be somewhat understanding that there is a new baby coming. If we ask him where the baby is he will lift up his shirt and point to his belly or put his hands on my belly. He also likes to show us where his belly button is...and his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. Preston still loves bathtime and is now starting to like reading time. I can actually sit with him and read a few books to him every day. He is also getting better with words and just understanding more every day. I can just tell he gets things, ya know? Oh, and he has picked up the word "mine!!". Not my favorite new thing--that's for sure! Preston is also able to drink out of a regular cup pretty well now. Some days are better than others.
Anyway, here are things Preston enjoys doing lately in no particular order...
-playing with blocks...he likes to put them together, dump them out, and of course drag them all over the house :)
-play with cars...he will roll them on the ground and make "zoom, zoom" and "vroom, vroom" sounds...he's been doing this for a while, but still enjoys it now
-loves to throw and try and catch footballs...the small, soft nerf ones
-loves his 'blankie'...when he wakes up in the morning (he is still sleeping in his crib) he will hand me his blanket and stretch out his arms to be picked up and then want to take his blanket with him to eat breakfast. Most of the time I drape it around his shoulders while he's eating and he's happy with that
-loves to sit on the couch/chair with us...he is able to climb on some couches...ours are a little too high, but he can almost do it by himself...and then he will just sit there and keep himself occupied with a book or toy or phone...I think he likes feeling like a big boy sitting up there with us
-loves to climb in general...he will climb into his toy wagon, try to climb in the tub, the furniture, the big rocks at the playground, everything!
-loves to run and be chased and tickled
-loves music and dancing, as always
-loves to try and count to 10 with me
-loves to try and say the alphabet...or at least sort of mimic like he's saying the alphabet
-still loves his pacifier! I am not about to pick that battle with him while a new baby is coming!
I know there are more things, but I just need to get better at blogging to keep track of it all on here. :) Here are some pictures from this past week...
climbing into the wagon
dumping out his blocks
being silly
trying to look innocent!
he was very proud of himself for climbing on top of this rock
In other news, we have decided that we are now undecided on our new baby boy's name. :) We probably won't name him Carson...although we still do really like that name! I don't think we'll know 100% sure until he arrives. It's funny because I am one of those people who wants to know what I'm having and exactly what the name will be. I'm not into surprises and I don't usually think I need to see the baby in order to name him. But that's the case here. We do have a little list going and think we have it narrowed down at this point. We'll just have to wait and make it official once he's here.
Speaking of baby, I am a couple of days into my 36th week of pregnancy and had another doctor appointment today. The baby has dropped and started effacing, but I am still not yet dilated (which is to be expected). My doc is estimating that he is about 6lbs right now. That's just by checking out my belly. Today we went ahead and scheduled a repeat c-section for "just in case" I don't go into labor on my own by my due date. Those are his VBAC requirements. No complications, no inducing, and no going over my due date. It's all supposed to reduce the risk of uterine rupture during labor and delivery. Anyway, so the latest I will have this baby for sure is April 2nd! Which happens to be Good Friday. I just realized that today. My doc had me choose either the 1st or 2nd of April...and I told him I would rather not choose to have him on April Fool's Day. If the baby decides to come on that day then I will be okay with it. :)
I am really hoping I go into labor before April hits...but at least after 38 weeks, of course. I am beginning to think I have control issues right now though because this wondering and not knowing is kinda making me a little anxious. :) Oh well, I guess that's just how it's supposed to be!

Preston is so adorable! I can't believe what a big boy he is now!
At least your control issues are at 36 weeks and not 29 like me! Preston is a doll, he's going to make a good older brother, or at least one that teaches baby boy #2 lots of naughty things that others can laugh about because it's not our kid:)
