On Wednesday I had my 24 week check up and also did the glucose tolerance test. For the glucose tolerance test my doc gave me a choice of "red drink" or "orange drink" and I took the orange for sure! He kind of laughed and asked if I had the red drink last time and I told him I picked orange last time too and it wasn't too horrible. I would rather have an orange flavor than a mystery cough medicine/fruit punch flavor! Anyway, so I drank the D50 (it is super sugary--of course--and even burns your throat as it goes down--eww) and had my blood drawn before my appt. The appointment was pretty good and I even took Preston with me to this one. I just brought him in his little umbrella stroller and he was really good! My blood pressure is great, my uterus is measuring right where it should be (25cm, I think), and Carson's heartbeat was very strong and in the 150's. The only sort of negative thing is my weight gain! Apparently I gain a lot of weight in my pregnancies. I gained about 4 pounds since last month and that's not cool this early on. I really haven't done anything different and I haven't been stuffing my face 24/7 or anything. So I will just continue to "watch it" and hope it slows down a little.
By Thursday I found out that I passed my glucose tolerance test with flying colors (woohoo!) and I am slightly anemic (which I was by this time in my last pregnancy) so I just need to take an iron pill in addition to the prenatal vitamin every day.
So all is looking good! I will post a new preggo picture over the weekend once I have David take a new one of me. :) I will be 25 weeks pregnant tomorrow!

One thing I've learned is that if you don't change your diet much and you gain a lot of weight, it's just because the baby needs it. You're petit so I think you just need a bit extra for the baby.
I agree with Sonia...it's not like you can't use a few pounds. ; ) I really don't want to hear about you gaining too much weight when you weigh less at 24 weeks than I do not even being pregnant!
I had the opposite problem. I kept losing weight. Being pregnant was the best diet I have ever been on. I decided that it didn't matter what you did the doctor was going to be upset about something. Gaining too much...gaining too little...they have to give you something to worry about. It is good to hear that everything is okay with this pregnancy. Carson will come out perfect. :)
I can't believe you are so far along, you are so small! Hope the rest goes by fast for you!
