It's Official

After much discussion, thought, and prayer David and I decided to change things up a bit and have me go to PRN status at work and David work 2 jobs (currently he works at a hospital that's 5 mins away from our house and now he will also work at another local hospital). What this means is that I will work a minimum of 2 shifts a month and max of 1 shift per week around David's schedule. There's a lot of factors that go into it...some of it is that I want to be at home more with Preston; another reason is that we want to pay off some lingering debt (David will get overtime at his new job and go to PRN status with his current job); and then there's the benefit factor. Currently we have benefits through my job...but that cost has gone up quite a bit since adding Preston to our policy and up again since I changed to part time status. So we will have benefits through David's new full time job. This change starts in a couple of weeks!!

Preston is 10 weeks old today! Lately I've been loving the video monitor we have for him. I use it every night during the whole bedtime process. I put him to bed in his crib and then watch the monitor in the living room to see if he is actually sleeping. If I see he is stirring then I can go in there and give him a pacifier or rub his tummy or something before he actually starts crying. This helps ease him back to sleep without taking too long. I've slowly been pushing his bedtime back as he'll let me. For a while he wouldn't go to sleep until at least 11pm no matter what we did.
