This Week

Yesterday was an infamous Texas ice day. Out of all the days in the week I could be working, of course it was the icy day. And when you work at the hospital there is no "ice holiday" where you get the day off or get to come in later. The patients are there and need you and the nurse on duty before you is usually beyond ready to go home after the long 12 hour shift. It really wasn't that bad of an ice day. I've seen a lot worse. But it's the worst we've had this season. David was very helpful and de-iced the car for me. It took about 30 minutes. I drove about 20mph the entire way and made it there just fine. :) Once there, it was just one of those days. It had that busy vibe. Why is it that when something happens, it all happens at the same time? It's some weird Murpheys Law or something. Seriously. All the patients are pretty stable and everyone is working at an even pace and then suddenly they all decide to crash and need some intervention at the exact same time and we go running around like chickens with our heads cut off. I guess life in general just seems to be that way. Most of the time I actually do enjoy my job, but it's exhausting! It's so relaxing to have a day (even a bad day--not that today has been a bad day--I'm just sayin') with Preston at home. This week I'm noticing Preston really is sticking more to a set schedule and he is able to keep himself entertained longer and he's eating more solid foods. David and I are also making some great progress on our debt. It's so nice to see our hard work paying off! It's hard b/c there is so much I'd love to buy right now, but I just have to wait. :) Those are my ramblings for now...sorry no pictures today!

Jared and I were talking about the whole debt thing last night. Congrats on paying it off! When I get frustrated about it, I always remind myself that as hard as it is right now, it would be even harder if we kept the debt and spent like we had money. Sometimes the right thing to do isn't always the easiest!

I hear ya! Although we still aren't done with the debt...we have paid off about half of it so far!
