And, Breathe!

David and I decided a week and a day was long enough to wait before bugging Preston's Neurologist about his lab results. So David called today and had to leave a message asking if the results were in, yet. I figured we'd have to wait until at least Monday for them to call us back...but I was wrong. The nurse from the office called and gave us the news...It's good news!!! Preston's levels were normal!!! So he doesn't have muscular dystrophy. We are very happy and feel soo blessed! It is such a relief, ya know?

On the other hand, my sister had her oldest son tested...and they found out he does have muscular dystrophy. :( They just found out a couple of days ago. He was also diagnosed with Aspergers earlier this year. They have all been through a lot this year in the way of health. Her youngest son does not have muscular dystrophy. They had him tested a couple of years ago because he had some motor delays early on and they wanted to rule it out.

Anyway, so it's all bitter sweet. I'm glad to know though. The most difficult part has been waiting and wondering. It's like a weight lifted off my shoulders. Here are some pictures of Preston rolling across the living room today. :)

He rolls across the room in no time, now!

I am so happy for you guys. I was just telling Chris earlier today that you were waiting to hear the results and that I thought you should be hearing soon.

I am sorry to hear that Amy's son has it. I know with the diagnosis of Asperger's on top of things that can be really rough.

It always seems like life hands us only bittersweet moments. I guess we just have to take them in stride. Even though it's not good news for your sister's family, it is good for all of you to know early so everyone can be prepared and do what can be done to make the best out of his life. And Preston looks like a silly billy in these pics :) He must love all that rolling around!
